Our client is the foundation for Social Entrepreneurs. Social entrepreneurs are people with vision, drive, commitment and passion who are coming up with solutions which can change the world for the better.
The Global Social Entrepreneurship Network (GSEN) was launched in 2013 to enable social entrepreneurs and their supporters to realise their potential all over the world. GSEN is a network of more than 50 leading supporters of social entrepreneurs, spread across more than 70 countries and six continents. Every year members collectively support over 5,000 social entrepreneurs. This benefits more than 2,500,000 people in 4,500 local communities globally.
Our client’s vision is to ensure social entrepreneurs can get the support they need wherever they are. 2018 has been a great year of transition for our GSEN, and we are now focused on building our regional hubs in Europe and Africa. They have secured a $200,000 fund from the MacArthur Foundation, which will allow them to grow their network bigger, and make a greater impact in this area of their work and our client’s need to find an exceptional GSEN Programme Lead to make it happen.
The role of the GSEN Programme Lead will be to support the sustainability of growth of GSEN and develop a three-year plan in the two key areas, Europe and Africa where you will work closely with advisory boards to influence, set up and steer regional meetings and agendas, ensuring continuous momentum. You will develop improve and monitor member experience, and improve user experience of members through events, surveys, content and collaboration. It will be up to you to run the annual GSEN Summit, identifying co-hosts each year and working with them to ensure and deliver an outstanding experience.
You will be fully supported by our client’s CEO as your direct Manager, the GSEN Advisory Board who are responsible for the governance of the network, the strategic direction including fundraising and partnerships, guidance on member value maximisation and network sustainability and by the member leads in each country.
You will be an inspiring and dynamic self-starter with demonstrable success in relatable programs at an international level, with an entrepreneurial spirit of your own, and the ability to drive forward and bring stakeholders with you through your compelling communications. You will take responsibility for timescale and budgets and thrive in managing a complex workload. Experience and understanding of the social entrepreneurship sector and its challenges is essential.
